The Intent-Impact Diagnostic™
For founder-led practices and mission-driven organizations
Something is getting lost between what you intend and what people experience.
You know what you do. You know why it matters. And yet - somewhere between the work you're doing and the way people understand, describe, or find you - something isn't translating.
That gap has a pattern, and it's diagnosable.
It might show up in your marketing: clients can't quite explain what makes you different, even when they love working with you.
It might show up in your team: staff who believe in the mission but feel quietly exhausted by the system.
It might show up in your leadership: strong values that somehow keep producing outcomes you didn't intend. The presenting problem varies, but the underlying dynamic is usually the same.
You don't need more tactics. You need someone to look at the full picture clearly - and tell you exactly what they see.
“What was most clarifying was that what I'm doing is working - but there is room to push it and to grow. Before our session, I was just guessing about where to put my time, effort, and money. Now I know. What Ashley is offering is an INCREDIBLE value.”
-Kara Keefe, M.D., Founder of Rooted Direct Primary Care
What this actually is
The Intent-Impact Diagnostic™ is a focused 2-hour assessment that maps the gap between what your organization intends and what it actually produces - in how you communicate, how you operate, and how the people inside it experience the work.
It draws on 13 years of communications strategy and a clinical lens for identifying where systems break down. That combination means I'm not just looking at your messaging or your org chart…I'm looking at the pattern underneath both.
You'll leave knowing what's working (often more than you think), what's creating friction, and exactly where your time, energy, and resources will move the needle. No guessing, and no vague advice. Just a clear map of what's happening and what to do next.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I help people understand what's getting lost between intent and impact.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade leading marketing and communications strategy for mission-driven organizations - national arts institutions, high-visibility brands, and organizations navigating the constant tension between their mission and how the world sees them.
I worked on the original marketing team for Broadway's Hamilton, led regional teams and multimillion-dollar marketing budgets, and spent years inside organizations trying to understand why good intentions kept producing results nobody planned for.
Now I bring a clinical lens to that same question. I work at the intersection of psychology and organizational systems - which means I don't just look at your strategy…I look at the structural patterns underneath it.
You're getting someone who has sat on every side of this problem, and can name exactly what's happening.

It is a focused 2-hour assessment that maps the gap between what your organization intends and what it actually produces. Before we meet, I review your current materials and context. During the session, we identify what is working, what is creating structural friction, and where your time and resources will actually move the needle. Within one week, you receive a one-page Structural Clarity Report - a clear map of what is happening and a prioritized roadmap for what to do next.

This works especially well for mission-driven founders and leaders who know what they do and why it matters, but something keeps getting lost between what they intend and what people experience. That includes Direct Primary Care and healthcare founders, nonprofit leadership teams and boards, and founder-led service businesses that grow through trust and referrals. If you are a DPC founder whose patients love the care but the practice isn't growing the way you expected - that is an intent-impact problem. If you lead a nonprofit where the team believes in the mission but is quietly burning out - that is also an intent-impact problem.

Most consultants and agencies are execution-focused - they produce deliverables. This is a diagnostic. There is no ongoing project, no scope creep, no retainer. The goal is not to do the work for you. It is to give you the clearest possible picture of what is happening and exactly where to focus. I am not here to take something off your plate. I am here to make sure you know what is actually on it.

It is the one deliverable that comes out of the session - a two-page summary that captures what is working in your organization, what is creating structural friction, and a prioritized roadmap for closing the gap. It is designed to be readable in five minutes and actionable immediately. Most clients tell me it is the clearest thing anyone has ever handed them about their own organization.
-
If you have been sitting with a nagging sense that something is not quite landing - in how you communicate, how you operate, or how your team experiences the work - and you have already tried the obvious fixes without getting traction, that is exactly what this session is designed for. The presenting problem does not have to feel catastrophic. The gap between intent and impact is often quiet. That is what makes it so hard to see from the inside.
-
Yes - and that preparation is built in. Before we meet, I send you a structured pre-work assessment that helps me understand your current materials, messaging, and organizational context. You do not need to compile anything special. You just need to answer honestly. The better your pre-work, the more ground we can cover in the session itself.
-
The diagnostic is a standalone engagement. There is no retainer, no follow-on package, and no pressure to continue working together. The Structural Clarity Report is designed to be self-directing - most clients leave knowing exactly what to do next without needing someone to implement it for them. If something comes up in the session that points toward a longer engagement, I will tell you that directly. But that is the exception, not the expectation.

The Intent-Impact Diagnostic™ is $1,500, paid at the time of booking. That includes the pre-work assessment, a 2-hour live session, and your Structural Clarity Report. Sessions are available in-person in Richmond, Virginia or nationwide via Zoom.
